January beach days!

January beach days we'll take them! I love watching Sidney and Riley play together, I love how comfortable they are in and near the water and I love this amazing place that we get to share with friends and family! I can't wait for swimming lessons to start in March so I wont be so worried when Sid's near the water, she has NO fear and often gets knocked over by the waves, silly girl!

 

                                                                

And the best part of a LONG beach day with friends (who aren't pictured because I took these pics before anyone got there, bummer) is tired sleepy kiddos!

Sunday morning pictures

Sunday mornings before church I try to get a picture of Sid & Riley together. They know the routine... before we leave the house sit on the stairs so mom can get our picture (sometimes we switch it up and take them outside).

 I love looking back at all the pictures of them growing up together and I do have a few pictures with smiling kids looking their Sunday best. But to be honest most Sundays go like this...

Riley gives his obligatory CHEESE while trying to make sure Sidney holds still so we can get this over with even if it takes a headlock.

Sidney escapes and while she's gone Riley gives me a handsome smile:)

Daddy retrieves Sidney from outside and back to the stairs she goes. 

And after 5 minutes of trying to get a picture, this is the best I can get

Cast is off!

While we were in Hawaii for Christmas Riley fractured his elbow.

6 weeks later he is a free man! 

 After the cast was off he wanted the Dr to put it back on because his arm hurt. Poor Guy.

He's doing his exercises and his jello arm should be back to normal in a few more weeks.

Low Tide

A few weeks ago we after school we headed down to the beach house with some friends. We were so excited to see how low the tide was because that meant exploring the tide pools, starfish and lots of other sea creatures. Riley was there to but he had no interest in playing on the beach, and I can't say I blame him since he still has his cast on. So he played inside....

Pretty!

One afternoon Sidney refused to nap and I didn't have the energy to make her, so off we went to the nail salon. I knew she was tired so I figured she would sit still, and she did just that! She chose Pink and Green (strawberry shortcake colors) and held out her hands and feet like a pro. I have been taking Sidney to the nail salon with me since she was born, but I stopped bringing her once she started walking. The ladies were SOOOO excited to see her! They were touching her curls, oooing and awwing at her eyes and a few asked me if her lips were "natural"? I think they meant the color... At least 3 of them catered to all of Sidney's needs (including holding her sippy cup for her when she got thirsty) and I enjoyed a mani/pedi and shoulder massage. Way to go Sid, you are now welcome to go with mommy anytime :)  

Grammy's quick trip

Lucky for us Grammy was in town to visit some friends for the day. It was a quick trip for her so we met up at Fashion Island for a visit. Riley and Sidney are always so excited to see her and it never fails that she comes with gift bags in tow. Riley and Sidney couldn't wait to wear their new clothes (hence the outfit changes below). And of course we hit up the pet store and cleaned out all the change from Grammy's wallet to throw into the fountain. 

                 

Tootsie Pop!!!

This girl in nothing but fun...haha, with a dash of independence and lots of sass! I love her sweet hugs and kisses, her bouncy curls, when she says please and thank you and the way she chases after our dogs. She always wants to choose her own outfits and on most days I let her because she usually ends up taking them off anyways! She adores her big brother, and wants to everything he does.  We love you Sid, we wouldn't have you any other way:)
