Riley in the Kitchen

When I was a little girl my mom ALWAYS let me help out in the kitchen. I loved every moment of it and to this day I still love to help her when she cooks. Lately Riley has been very curious about what Paul and I are doing in the kitchen so we try to let him help out as much as possible. Here are a few things we've learned about his cooking skills. His favorite thing to make is eggs, no matter what we are cooking he asks "can I make eggs?" He HATES to get dirty or be sticky, he loves to stir and when he makes rice crispy treats he puts one in the pot and 2 in his mouth :)

Del Mar Fair

We decided to go to the Del Mar Fair because there was a monster truck show. We figured Riley would love it and he absolutely did! This was our first time to the Del Mar Fair and it wont be our last! We liked it so much better then the OC fair, larger grounds, not as hot and it seemed so much "cleaner".  It wont deter us from going to the OC fair but we have added the Del Mar Fair to our list of Summer must do's! I also found my favorite fair food... Fried Dill pickles, SOOOO good!
The monster truck show was awesome! The trucks were huge and LOUD! Riley wouldn't wear the ear plugs but used his hands to cover his ears instead. They also had Transformer cars that opened up into robots, they were SO cool!!!
Of course we had to play some games, Riley loves any game that has a ball that he can throw and the little stud won himself a goldfish! (If that's what you want to call it, the thing was brown) and he named it Rock.
To our surprise there was also a wrestling match which was hilarious & totally fake. Whenever there was a body slam or a wrestler was thrown into the ropes Riley would say "Ouch, that hurts"!.  There were also a bunch of ridiculously dressed guys playing music & dancing....
Every time we passed one of these foot massage things Riley would say "Dad I need money" and would walk over to the machine and stand on it. Who knew his favorite ride would be a vibrating foot massager! haha

4th of July

We started our day early going to the annual pancake breakfast at our church. We love starting our day this way, I have been going to the pancake breakfast since I was 8 years old! There is always delicious food, old friends and a bike parade for the kids. Riley LOVED eating his pancakes and loved riding his new scooter all over the place!

In the afternoon we went to Grandma & Grandpa's house (aka Mem-Mom & Pe-Pa) for a BBQ & swimming with Cousin Aven and Auntie Lou was in town & we had fun playing with her too!
Cousins playing, SO cute and becoming such good little buddies!
Aunt Lindsey, Aven, and Uncle Jared having some lunch...
We spent the evening at the Angels game with Grandma, Grandpa & Kadyn. It's so amazing how much Riley loves & understands baseball! He cheers when he's supposed to, yells "charge" when appropriate & sits like a little man watching the entire game! (As long as he has a hotdog, rootbeer & red vines).
