A week With Aunt Lou

We had so much fun with Auntie Lindsey this week (my older sister). She came to visit from Arizona and we made the most of her time here with 2 visits to California Adventure, a afternoon at Lego Land and the aquarium, getting plants at the Nursery and planting them in our garden, and a day at the local carnival.

Easter Weekend

We spent the Saturday before Easter at our beach with family. Uncle Jordan flew in from Utah, Aunt Lou Lou drove from Arizona and Matt and Karyna came for the weekend from LA. We had lots of yummy food and good laughs (especially when Jordan and Jared climbed the cactus covered hills to get the Frisbee and when grandpa fell face first in the water trying to catch the Frisbee)! On Sunday we gathered at Mee-Mom and Grandpa's house for breakfast, an Easter egg hunt and then again later that night for our traditional Easter dinner. Riley and his Mee-Mom Cousin Aven couldn't get enough of the sand, he was dipping the smash ball in the sand and putting it in his mouth! Uncle Jared hiked the Cactus filled hill to find his Frisbee! Can you see him in the picture? Riley Loves his Aunt Lou Lou Hunting for Eggs at Mee-Mom's house, and loving it!!! The Easter Bunny knows Riley LOVES quarters! Mee-Mom's yummy Sour cream waffles and eggs benedict breakfast!!! We Loved having Jordan and Lindsey here, wish Jordan could have stayed longer!!! (Lindsey is staying all week)!

Tie Dyed Easter Eggs

This is such a fun way to dye eggs with no mess from dye! It makes incredible eggs!!!
1. Cut silk from a tie or old blouse (I found some good ones at the thrift store) into squares large enough to wrap around an egg (it must be 100% silk)

2. Wrap the raw egg with the silk making sure the prited side of the material is facing the egg and secure with a twisty tie
3.Wrap the silk-wrapped egg in a piece of muslin or an old pillow case (this will prevent the dye from transfering to other eggs) and again use a twisty tie to secure it again.

4. Place the eggs in a pot of boiling water with 4-5 TBSP of vinegar and boil for 20-30 min
5. Remove the eggs and let them cool, unwrap them and this is what you get!!!! You can also rub with a little vegatable oil to make them shinny

Knotts Berry Farm

Sense Aunt Kadyn was going to Knotts Berry Farm to sing with her school choir we thought it would be a great excuse to go... She did an awesome job and Riley loved all the songs that the choir sang (Especially the Choo Choo one that Kadyn was so embarrassed to do the hand movements for). After the show Riley gave her a bag of cotton Kadyn, he LOVES his Aunt Kadyn more than anyone in the world! Paul and I went on a couple roller coasters and Riley went on his first ride all by himself, he wasn't to thrilled but he made it through! At the end of the day we played a couple of carnival games and Riley won a stuffed penguin when he threw a ping pong ball and it made it into the cup, he's such a stud!

San Clemente Pier

Its so good to be living back in my home town (not that I was ever really that far away) but it makes it so much easier to enjoy the local places like the pier. Riley loves running and chasing the birds, and we love to have breakfast at the Fisherman's. On this morning we actually me "the Fisherman" Tomas! He is the inspiration for the fisherman on the side of the restaurant as well as on their menu's. He's a local figure in this town and spent a few minutes with Riley and promised to teach Riley how to fish when he turned 3 years old.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

We decided to celebrate this awesome day at California Adventure! Riley LOVES going to see "Talk with Turtle Crush" and checking out all the sights. He ate a hot dog, loved his cotton candy, had his face painted and by the end of the day passed out in his green stroller :)

Dare Devil

Riley LOVES motorcycles! He has a few that wind up and and he calls them "Dare Devils"! Paul taught him how to make "Dare Devil" jumps with cardboard and mini skate ramps. Here's Riley setting up for the big jump!
