Stay-Cation

A few weeks ago we decided to take a little getaway and stay 5 miles away from our house at the St. Regis hotel in Dana Point. We ordered room service, watched movies and played in the pool, it was perfect! To top it off the Gwen Stephani and her band No Doubt were all staying at the hotel as well! Riley shared his fries with her son Zuma but thats about as much contact as we had. Mem-mom, Grandpa and Kadyn also came by the hotel to hang at the pool with us (sorry no picture).
The first thing Riley did when we got in the room was jump in his bed!
Hey mom! How about some privacy?!

Soccer practice

Riley gets so excited when Paul tells him its time time for "Soccer Practice". He gets his soccer shorts and shoes on and packs his backpack by himself with his water and ball. The process is seriously one of the cutest things to watch, its pure excitement and makes Riley SO happy!
Unpacking his bag at the field
Stretching... He does this all on his own! Paul and I try not to let him see us laugh because it is so funny!
If he gets hot he takes his shirt off
And checks in about every 5 minutes for a water break

Medieval Times

The last time I went to Medieval Times I was probably 10 years old, but this was the 1st visit for Paul and Riley. The show was what we expected, cheesy.... But Riley loved everything about it! He loved the horses, the knights, watching the jousting and battles and all the food!
Carefully inspecting his new sword, which he is now obsessed with and likes to sleep with!
The cowboy boots are his choice, they are one of only 2 pairs of shoes that he will wear.

Slammers FC

This weekend we went to Kadyn (my little sister's) Soccer tournament in Del Mar San Diego. She plays for the Newport Beach Slammers.... Riley LOVES going to watch and play soccer! He gets his backpack with his ball and water bottle, puts on his soccer cleats on and he's ready to go!
Riley waits patiently until half time when he can run on the field and shoot on goal with dad!

That is a juice box straw in his hand!

Madonna Inn

When we visit Paul's family in San Luis Obispo sometimes we stay at his brothers house/ranch but this time we stayed at the Madonna Inn.
We like to stay there for the cool rooms (that are totally over the top and mostly tacky) and the amazing pool! Every room in the hotel has a different theme and this time we chose the "GO" room. ( There are 3 different circus themed rooms Merry, Go and Round).
The bathroom and shower
I LOVE the sparkly wallpaper, they were like tiny sequins
Paul and his brother Ryan swimming with their boys
The entrance into this pool is so awesome for kids! Its a gradual slope so they have much more room to swim around by themselves

Salina's Rodeo

On Our way up north to visit Paul's family we made a stop at the Salina's Rodeo to watch his brother Ryan and his wife Tammy compete in the rodeo... Riley LOVES visiting his cousins Trey and Colton and absolutely LOVES the "ranch" life!

Meet Rib and Rob

While Riley and I were at the mall we spotted these little guys at Brookstone of all places! Its a self contained Eco system complete with 2 aquatic frogs, bamboo that provides oxygen, a snail that cleans and living gravel to convert waste. Lets hope these little guys survive because Riley LOVES them!

Riley in the Kitchen

When I was a little girl my mom ALWAYS let me help out in the kitchen. I loved every moment of it and to this day I still love to help her when she cooks. Lately Riley has been very curious about what Paul and I are doing in the kitchen so we try to let him help out as much as possible. Here are a few things we've learned about his cooking skills. His favorite thing to make is eggs, no matter what we are cooking he asks "can I make eggs?" He HATES to get dirty or be sticky, he loves to stir and when he makes rice crispy treats he puts one in the pot and 2 in his mouth :)
