Tavarua Fiji~LAKERS

We may have been in Fiji for the 1st 3 games of the NBA finals but we as dedicated fans came prepared with our Jersey's and team spirit! Paul purchased this "Basket Case" in San Luis Obispo specifically to bring on the trip for the finals! Cari and Wooly also came prepared, including the purple and gold Electric shades! (Check out Pau Gasol behind us)!

Tavarua Fiji~Part 2

Keeping Riley out of the water (pool and ocean) was surprisingly difficult. HOORAY he finally loves the water which makes Paul MORE than happy. When he woke up in the morning he would say "I need my surf shorts, I need my surf shirt" and before we could make it to breakfast he was in the pool! This continued all day up until dinner time. Perhaps it was the pool side Shirley temples and cute Gracie that kept him going back for more :) This year I was able to to a few more activities (Including the stand up paddle board) because Riley was more comfortable staying on the Island with his Fijian babysitter Mele. One day while he was napping I was able to get on the boat to Cloudbreak with Paul to watch him surf. 3 hours on a boat was so peaceful and relaxing, and the water was so beautiful! I wasn't close enough to get really clear shots of Paul surfing but surf photographer Tom Servais was on our trip and took some of Paul. I will post them when we get copies. Tavarua Fiji~Part 1

We had such an amazing time in Tavarua. It's so fun to see how comfortable Riley is becoming with the water and the Fijians :) I took SO many pictures I am going to post the trip in separate parts so it may take a couple days. Our flight there went better than expected, Riley has become quite the seasoned traveler and seems to have more patience going through customs then I do! We arrived in Nadi Fiji around 6am to perfect weather. Usually we stay at a small hotel before heading to the island later in the afternoon but this year we headed straight over to Tavarua accompanied by professional surfer Rob Machado. Riley enjoyed the van ride to the make shift dock checking out the cows, and horses along the roadside while I held on for dear life going over bumpy roads with huge potholes and bridges made of wood slabs. 30 minutes later we got on the boat where Riley actually fell asleep on the ride over! As usual, Paul had to bring the soccer goals (they collapse and he carried them in his board bag) to the Island. Riley got right to it kicking the ball on the deck (no shoes of course....cringe) luckily he didn't get any splinters or nails in his feet!

San Luis Obispo & Paul's Birthday

We love visiting San Luis Obispo to visit Paul's Mom and his brother and his family. We happened to visit on Pauls Birthday weekend which made for lots of good times and Yummy Food!

Riley went to his first Angel's Baseball game this week and he LOVED IT! He especially loved his Hot dog, Red Vines and Root beer (who wouldn't). He sat the entire game, cheered when he was supposed to and shouted "home run" and "charge" when appropriate. He also made it onto the big screen during the game! Camera's just can't resist our little leprechaun!

A week With Aunt Lou

We had so much fun with Auntie Lindsey this week (my older sister). She came to visit from Arizona and we made the most of her time here with 2 visits to California Adventure, a afternoon at Lego Land and the aquarium, getting plants at the Nursery and planting them in our garden, and a day at the local carnival.
