For Christmas Riley got a new bike that he affectionately refers too as his "RED BIKE". He rides it EVERYDAY with Daddy and obviously he loves it! Its so great living in a neighborhood that has streets with so many kids and no traffic :)
We may have partied at 7pm but we still celebrated! Confetti Guns, Poppers, noise makers etc. Riley LOVED it all and Sidney Slept. We watched a movie, had some Ice Cream cones and called it a night. When we woke up this morning Paul had cooked waffles and bacon, YUMM! We drank Martinelli's and went outside to set off the rest of our Poppers, the best part this morning was when Riley said "Mom, wait! I need my Party hat"! Thats right buddy, you cant use poppers without wearing our party hat, hahahaha
Christmas morning was so much fun! Riley ripped open his presents as to be expected and opened Sidney's for her as well. We headed to my moms house for breakfast and then spent the afternoon with Papa and Tutu. Later that night we went back to Mem-moms for a wonderful Christmas dinner! Mmmmm SO much yummy food and my favorite dessert, my moms English trifle, it's a good thing she only makes it once a year! All 3 kids (Riley, cousin Macy and Sidey) were all fast asleep on the couch, it was so cute!
Riley at Mem-moms chilling in his new chair and his LIVERPOOL soccer kit that he's been wearing for 2 days straight!
We love Christmas Eve and the anticipation for Christmas morning! This year Paul and I cooked dinner for family and friends at our house. It was the first year Riley had an understanding of traditions, Santa, reindeer and leaving cookies and carrots out for them. Although, it wasn't until Christmas afternoon when we were driving to Mem-moms house that Riley said "Mom, I see Santa and hear the reindeer"! It was a little strange considering he was in his car seat but we played along anyway. Sidney was a perfect angel, sleeping through everything :) Riley kept himself busy dressing up...Buzz light year, fireman and a cowboy made appearance's during dinner and he finished off the evening playing monster trucks with Grandpa.
It's been 1 week since Sidney was born and it has been so wonderful! We LOVE having a new baby in the house and having a little girl is so new and exciting. I am so grateful for all the help and for the friends who have brought dinner over so I didn't have to worry about cooking. Riley is adjusting well to his little sister and really embracing being the "big brother". He LOVES to hold her, kiss her, make sure she has her paci and that she's wrapped in her blanket. When she's in her cradle he rocks the cradle and says "Sidney likes this"and when she crys (which is hardly ever) he tells her "it's ok Sidney don't cry". He loves to "tickle tickle" her head and hold her hand. He shows great love and concern for his little sister and it makes us SO happy that he's sweet and kind to her. On the other hand when people come to visit he does act out getting wild doing anything to get noticed! We hope this part ends soon because he seriously gets crazy running and jumping on everything including the friends and family who may be visiting.
We headed to the Hospital at 7am and our princess arrived at 2:30pm. It was a wonderful afternoon spent in the hospital with my Mom and Paul (thank goodness for solitaire) and reminiscing how we were doing the same thing just 3 years ago awaiting the birth of Riley. I am so grateful that the delivery went smoothly and that she arrived healthy. A big thank you to my brother Jared and his wife Lindsey for all their help with Riley. I'm in love with my sweet girl, and she is so blessed to have so many people that already love her!
