Riley started his 1st day of school and he did great! I wanted to get him started on his own "big boy" routine before his little sister arrives so he is going on Tuesday and Thursday mornings for about 4 hours. When we got there he went into his classroom and was so happy to see that our neighbor Andrew is also in his class! He went straight over to the table with all the cars and Paul and I said goodbye. We were relieved that on our way out the door there was not a tear or complaint from him, actually I don't think he even noticed that we left :( I on the other hand am missing my buddy and probably going to drive by while they are outside playing to spy on him.

I LOVE to Paint!
Riley paints at least twice a day and on a good day we're outside painting 4 different times! He paints with watercolors and tempera but finger paints are becoming his fast favorite! I don't keep all of his art but I keep WAY to much of it because I cant seem to throw it away and when the painting is dry he reminds me to hang it up in his playroom.

Yes, our dog Herbie has been painted on numerous occasions.

HOOOOME RUN!
Riley loves sports and yes, we let Riley play ball in the house... Recently has been very into baseball (maybe its all the Angel games we take him to). He loves to play HOMERUN with dad. He hits the ball yells "HOMERUN" and makes his way around the kitchen tossing the bat on the ground and slides into home base and says "safe"! It is so funny to watch and even more amazing how good he is at hitting the ball!
This machine pops the balls up into the air

Pretend City
We have been so excited to take Riley to an awesome new children's museum in Irvine. It has been "in the works" for almost 12 years! (crazy). Riley quickly gravitated to what he was comfortable with; water, cars, the mail box and the Grocery store but we were a bit surprised at how excited he was to be a "farmer". He LOVED picking the apples and strawberries and then putting them back, and picking them again!

A few of the "pretend" apples had been bitten into, haha!

Surfliner
Kadyn Riley and I took the train from San Juan to Fullerton for Lunch. Riley loved the train ride, its only about 45 minutes each way and he brought his back pack with some of his toys to keep him entertained. There are a few restaurants right by the train station in Fullerton and had planned to go to Spaghetti Factory but it was closed (we took the early train and it didn'topen until 11:30). So we ate at Knowlwood which had great hamburgers, lots of marichino cherries for Riley and an air Hockey table.
He was exhausted and fell asleep on the train ride home

Our Buzz....
Buzz has been seen around our house for the past couple of weeks... Usually first thing in the morning and sometimes in the late afternoon. He doesn't like his mask, and he doesn't always wear his wings but when he does he loves to pretend he can fly! And Buzz ALWAYS wears his cowboy boots, of course!
Riding his scooter
Eating Lunch, Buzz has a big appetite!

Hawaii August 2009
We love going to visit Papa and TuTu in Hawaii. This trip we also attended a wedding for Shellie and John Allen, it was an unbelievable 3 day event at the Mauna Kea and the rehearsal dinner hosted at Papa's house. The weather was amazing and the water was perfect! Riley spent time on the beach but mostly in the pond. The Boys (Riley and his cousins Trey and Colton) were up every morning around 6am and in the pond by 7!

Riley had to put one leg over every light post on the way to a BBQ at the Mauna Kea
Trey, Riley and Colton did Water Colors in the yard almost every day!
Hana (Who takes care of the property and has known Paul since he was 8 years old) put up a new rope swing in the yard that the boys loved!
Cutest Cousins!
Rehearsal Dinner on the lawn at Papa Kea O Wailea (Paul's Dads House)
The wedding was at the Mauna Kea, the ceremony took place on the beach at sunset, followed by a sit down dinner on the lawn and then dancing and cake in the ball room. It was one of the most beautiful weddings I have ever been to!
The WHITE men
The Bride and Groom
Narand at Puako Store always gives Riley a Popsicle when we come to the store, Paul has been going there since he was a kid!
We also went to a BBQ for our friend Lisa (who is expecting a baby in a few weeks). There were so many kids and a huge yard to play in !

Farmers market, the best Papaya!
Riley's friend Tiana came over to swim in the pond
